 1. General Terms & Conditions

These general conditions of sale or supply of services apply, without restriction or reservation, to all products and/or services offered for sale on this WEC Conference registration platform, hereinafter referred to as "the Site". 

The fact for a person or entity to order on the Site implies full acceptance of these general conditions of sale. They are accessible at any time on the Site and will prevail, where appropriate, over any other version and over the Client's own general terms of purchase or other terms and conditions.

Downtown Europe is acting as the WEC Conference Secretariat. If the WEC (World Employment Confederation) has to cancel the event, Downtown Europe liability in the event of cancellation is limited to a full refund of the event fee only. We will not refund travel or hotel costs associated. Downtown Europe acting as the WEC Conference Secretariat accepts no liability if the Conference is cancelled or postponed for reasons beyond our reasonable control resulting from an act of nature, governmental regulation, fire, war, terrorist activity or civil commotion. 

Booking confirmation will be sent to you immediately for all on-line bookings. If you have not received an email confirmation within 24 hours of making the on-line booking, please contact the team at conference@wecglobal.org

 2. Payment Instructions & Modalities

Current rates are inclusive of tax, we reserve the right to defer any new taxes and rate increases. The prices indicated are in Euros. 

Payment must be made at the time of booking. 

The Provider accepts payment by Visa, Mastercard and American Express. If you choose to pay with a credit card, the money is immediately withdrawn from your card upon confirmation of payment. 

3. Complaint

Any complaint and/or dispute by the customer against the service must be made, exclusively by e-mail to the address conference@wecglobal.org, at the latest 48 hours after the event giving rise to the complaint, under penalty of forfeiture.   

4. Retractation period / Cancellation Policy

The service is confirmed as quickly as possible via e-mail. In agreement with the customer, we shall send an initial confirmation email before the end of the seven-day period. The parties therefore agree that the sending of this email shall not give rise to the exercise of any right of withdrawal. 

All cancellations must be made in writing and sent to conference@wecglobal.org 

  • Conference registration:75% of registration fee may be refunded upon written cancellation to World Employment Conference team before 31st January 2023. Refund will be made in April 2023. 
  • Payment is non-refundable as of 1st February 2023 but a name can be substitute by another one until 10th March 2023. An email should be sent to the organising team to information of the substitution, otherwise it will not be considered. 

 5. Intellectual and industrial property

By purchasing the registration, the customer becomes the holder of a non-exclusive license to use the Site. This license includes the right to use the Site for strictly personal use and within the framework of the client's own private or professional activities. This right is non-transferable on the part of the client. 

Any reproduction or representation, in whole or in part, for other purposes, in particular for commercial purposes, on any medium whatsoever, is prohibited. Failure to comply with this prohibition constitutes an infringement which may result in the civil and criminal liability of the counterfeiter.

The Site is protected by copyright legislation and, in general, intellectual property law. No mention or use of trademarks, trade names, acronyms, logos, drawings or photos appearing on the Site may be made without our prior written consent. Any reproduction or use not previously and expressly authorized is constitutive of the offence of counterfeiting and liable to civil and criminal prosecution. Furthermore, any use contrary to good morals and morality may not be the subject of any authorization.   

6. Responsibility

The registrations offered for sale have been the subject of all the necessary care. However, the customer acknowledges and accepts that the models presented do not in any case constitute a detailed legal opinion. 

The models are used under the entire responsibility of the client and for information purposes only. 

A registration must be adapted to the objectives pursued by the parties, taking into account their own legal constraints and particularities. It is strongly advised to use it only after consulting a specialist. 

By using the registration platform, you waive the liability of WEC Conference Organising Secretariat, its publishers or the author of the text, even in case of weakness or inaccuracy, whether obvious or not, of its content. 

In any case, the responsibility of WEC Conference Organising Secretariat, its publishers, its partners and the authors is limited to the reimbursement of the purchase price. 

 7. Privacy Policy

We will treat your personal information in accordance with data protection legislation. We will only use your information for administration and communication in the frame of this event. 

 8. Invalidity - Force Majeure - Applicable Law and Competent Court

If for any reason a provision of these general terms and conditions should be declared inapplicable, such inapplicability shall not affect the application of the other provisions of the general terms and conditions. The provision deemed inapplicable will then be replaced by the closest possible provision. 

Neither WEC Conference Organising Secretariat, its publishers, nor the customer can be held responsible for any failure to perform which would have for origin a case of force majeure, beyond their control, including but not limited to cases of war, riot, insurgency, interruption of transport, import or export problems, strike, lockout, shortage, fire, earthquake, storm, floods. 

These general terms and conditions are exclusively governed by Belgian law. In the event of a dispute, only the Courts of the judicial district of Brussels will be competent.
